Brass Bound Teak Indian Military Chest, Rajasthan -19thC Campaign Furniture merging with delicate pale accentsThese Anglo Indian Military chests were originally used by officers of the British Indian Army to carry their kit and personal possessions whilst on tour. As they had to with stand a lot of punishment in transit, they were exceptionally well made. Constructed from Teak, Rosewood or Jackfruit wood they were made to order by skilled carpenters. Depending on rank, these were re enforced with corners of brass or iron. Our pieces are mostly from the 19thC
