The off licence on the opposite side of the street made a perfect backdrop for the beautiful humans that caught my eyes and that I wanted to depict and celebrate

I aimed to capture the joy of the original photograph and infuse it into every new piece in the series

but I typically manage to put my brushes down first

Bordelaise I painting The off licence on theA trip to Bordeaux during Autumn inspired my practice. The colours ad from of the foliage against the grey sky, inspired the development of this negative space painting. The intuitive use of the colour palette, dictated the arrangement of the forms.
